Hilary Duff welcomes baby No. 4 with husband Matthew Koma
Hilary Duff welcomed her third child with husband Matthew Koma on Friday, May 3, she announced on Instagram on Tuesday. Sharing pictures of water birth at home, the actress took a moment to honour her newborn daughter in her caption.
“Townes Meadow Bear 🧸, now we know why she made us wait so long… she was shaking her cheeks to perfection!” Duff wrote. “I’ve been dreaming of holding you in my arms for months now and the last 5 days of knowing you, staring at you and smelling your scent have been pure moments of magic.”
“We all love you just the way you are here with your beauty. 5/3/24,” the new mom of four wrote in her caption.
Duff and Koma, who tied the knot in 2019, share daughters Mae James, 2½, and Banks Violet, 5, and co-parent Duff’s eldest, Luca Cruz, 11, with ex-husband Mike Comrie. Duff became a mother in 2012 when she welcomed Luca into the world. After four years of marriage, she and Comrie separated in 2014 and divorced two years later. The “With Love” singer married Koma in 2019, and they expanded their family in 2018 and 2021.
Hilary Duff Announced her pregnancy with a “Holiday Card”
Hilary Duff first announced that she was pregnant with her fourth child in December 2023. “Wonderful surprise,” he wrote via Instagram, sharing a family holiday card of him, Koma and their kids wearing pajamas.
The front of the card read, “So much for silent nights. Love, Duff-Bair-Comrie Crew,” while the back confirmed the news: “Buttercup, buckle up, we’re adding another to this crazy group!”
Later that month, Hilary Duff shared an Instagram Story photo of herself with her husband Koma to express her gratitude for taking time away from the children.
“A few nights away from the kids is good for the body,” Duff captioned the photo. “I love you more than my first trimester[er]. Also read – Reason for Timothee Chalamet skipped the 2024 Met Gala
In a December interview for USA TODAY‘s “The Essentials,” Duff explained how motherhood has taught her to let go.
“I feel like because I have three kids, I don’t have control over everyone’s feelings — or their happiness,” Duff said at the time. “But it’s a hard pill to swallow as a parent, and it’s something you have to let go of and be like, ‘It’s not always what I thought.'”
