Eva Mendes “didn’t feel it as pressure” while choosing between Kids and Hollywood

Eva Mendes is happy she had children in her 40s, three years after meeting her husband Ryan Gosling.
In a conversation with People, the actress opened up about the public’s reaction to getting pregnant at 40 and how she couldn’t have imagined becoming a mother at any other time.

“When I was 40 I was pregnant it was a big deal to people, but it wasn’t for me. And then I was 42 and I was pregnant with my second child and people started saying, ‘Oh my God, you must be so tired, that’s why people have kids in their 20s.’ “I thought, this is the most regrettable, stupidest thing I’ve ever heard,” Eva Mendes said.

She adds, “It requires more patience. In my 20s, I didn’t even want to be around any kids. I just talked nonsense and made noise. I could not have raised kids in any other era of my life but now, for sure.”

Now, her children are everything to Mendes — and her decision to take a step back from acting to raise them was a wise decision.

“It was the easiest decision I ever made,” she says. “I was older and I knew that as my kids grew up, it didn’t matter what I did Or not, will impact their life.”

She added, she “didn’t feel it as pressure” and instead “felt it as clarity.”

She says, ‘Your career comes and goes but kids, yes, I had it easy.’ “Those are just the formative years. I wanted to be there for all of it.”

Mendes’ last film was 2014’s Lost River. However, since then, she has lent her voice to the beloved animated program Blue and is set to release a children’s book Desi, Mami and the Never-Ending Worries in September.

Since becoming a mom, Mendes has learned that her words are powerful — and her daughters inspire her to make good decisions every day.

She says, “It’s all that matters when two little people are watching you all day. It’s scary but it’s good because it makes me try to be a better person every day.”

While Eva Mendes and Gosling keep their relationship fairly private, over the past few months she was vocal in her support of her husband’s awards season campaign for Barbie. Also read – Offset and Cardi B enjoy date night in New York

“I couldn’t be here without her,” Gosling told Extra at the Los Angeles premiere of The Fall Guy. “She’s like my acting coach too. She’s really become the best acting coach I’ve ever had, it’s endless how she helps me.”

On Monday, April 29, Hits Radio shared a video interview of Gosling and Emily Blunt on the station’s YouTube account. In the clip, Gosling is seen wearing a T-shirt that reads, “Desi, Mammy, and Never-Ending Worries” – the title of Eva Mendes’s first children’s book, as a promotion technique.
