Giancarlo Esposito Best known for Breaking Bad appeared on an episode of SiriusXM’s “Jim & Sam Show” while promoting his new AMC drama series “Parish”. He revealed that he was very broke before his iconic role of Gas Fringe in “Breaking Bad.”
Esposito said, that once he asked his ex-wife how much he was insured for. and if anyone commits suicide do they get the insurance money, to which her wife replies “It’s kind of tricky.”
He said, that he started the planning where he planned to throw himself in front of a moving vehicle so that it would knock him off and his family would be able to claim insurance money. Esposito further explains that it was a difficult moment for him when he wanted to self-annihilate so that his 4 kids have a better chance of survival.

Giancarlo Esposito said thinking about the pain he would cause to his family if he committed suicide would be lifelong trauma for them and he did not want that. Esposito added that Breaking Bad was a lifesaver for him, it was like a light of hope that helped him to escape that difficult situation and for which he is grateful.
