Alicia Keys Extend Help to Prevent NYC School from Closing Art Program

Alicia Keys and Roc Nation came to the defence of a 7th grader who is raising money for an NYC school’s performing arts program… and she’s now very close to doing it.
12-year-old Tennyson Artiglier got a huge boost from Alicia and the company. They started a GoFundMe to help keep the professional performing arts school’s flagship program alive and running… which is in danger of closing forever due to budget cuts.

The kid’s lofty goal was $102,000 – which would help keep the performing arts program open – even if just for a little longer. Alicia – who attended the school – found out about the fundraiser alongside the rapper’s entertainment company, and decided to intervene… raising $60,000 towards their goal. Alicia Keys and Roc Nation aren’t stopping there — as they’ve also vowed to help raise money for the program every year until the city can fund it themselves. Jeremy Alan White – another alumnus – has also donated to the cause by pushing the GFM link on his IG.

Tennyson couldn’t be more grateful for the celebrity support, especially from a notable alumnus like Alicia. Tennyson’s classmates couldn’t believe it when she revealed that Alicia would step in to save their performing arts program.
She added… “We still talk about her legacy every day.”
