“The Mandalorian”Star Gina Carano said that Pedro Pascal advised her to add #transright
Former star of the Disney+ series “The Mandalorian” Gina Carano said that fellow co-star Pedro Pascal told her in early 2020 that he could “just add #transrights to his feed” to reduce public reaction to his social media posts.
In September 2020, The Mandalorian star wrote “boop/bop/beep” in her Twitter bio after fans asked her to support the transgender community. Her joke faced huge backlash online. The MMA star said she had no intention of insulting the transgender community, she just thought that it was cute like R2-D2.
Carano told The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday that while she was facing controversy, Pascal, who has a trans sister, told her to “just put #transrights in her feed, He said “Do that and they’ll leave you alone” but She didn’t do that, ”Because hashtagging anything is not my style, I’m not even going on #TrumpsRights” she said. She was later fired from “The Mandalorian” in February 2021 after sharing a post where she compared modern Republicans to Jews persecuted during the Holocaust. Those wishes have become reality.
Tension between Gina Carano and Disney
At the time of her dismissal, Lucasfilm and the “Star Wars” franchise, which both operate under parent company Disney, said that Carano’s social media posts “offending people based on religious and cultural identities is rude and unacceptable.”
Last month, Carano announced she was suing The Walt Disney Company for firing her due to her political views, she is suing them over alleged wrongful termination and discriminatory treatment. X Corp, owned by billionaire Elon Musk, said it funded the lawsuit as part of its “commitment to free speech.”
Elon Musk posted a post in response to the actress saying that X would support her if she like to join the lawsuit against Disney.
Gina Carano’s legal team argued that “Disney bullied Ms. Carano, tried to force her to conform to its views about cultural and political issues – when that bullying failed, they fired her.”
