Neve Campbell will return for Scream 7
After sitting out “Scream 6” due to a salary dispute, franchise star Neve Campbell has announced her return in the upcoming seventh film.
Campbell confirmed on her Instagram account that she would be returning as Sidney Prescott in Scream 7.
The major blow came when Campbell refused to return for Scream VI, feeling that the salary she was paid did not reflect the value she brought to the franchise. Following reports that Campbell wanted to return for Scream 7, the actress herself announced that she would return as Sydney for the next film. She also shared how original Scream writer and franchise co-creator Kevin Williamson is going to direct the sequel. My appreciation for these movies and what they mean to me has never diminished. I’m very happy to say And I’m honoured that I was asked to be involved.” In the most respectful way. Guy Busick, who wrote the fifth and sixth “Scream” films with Jared Vanderbilt, is taking over the screenwriting reins. Vanderbilt will continue to produce with his Project X Entertainment partners William Sherk and Paul Neinstein.
Things will now pick up pace with the return of Neve Campbell. At present no date has been fixed for the new film. Shortly after the 2022 relaunch of Scream, Scream VI hit theatres in March 2023 and broke the original record for the highest domestic box office gross ($108.1 million) in the franchise. Its global box office gross is $168.9 million.
