50 Cent sued by Power 106 host Bryhana Monegain
50 Cent is being sued by a fan who claims she was injured after he threw his microphone off the stage during a concert in Los Angeles.
In new court documents obtained by Page Six, Bryhana Monegain alleges that when the “In Da Club” artist realized his microphone was not working properly during the concert, he threw it in the crowd, which Hit Monegain’s Face and wrist.
When did the incident take place?
The incident occurred at the Crypto.com Arena on August 30, 2023, during 50 Cent’s The Final Lap Tour. At the show, fans captured footage showing the musician throwing two malfunctioning microphones off the stage into the crowd. The footage did not show where the microphone fell, but photos emerged showing the alleged victim, Monegain, and her injuries. Injuries Monegain suffered due to 50 Cent
The Power 106 host claims in her lawsuit that she suffered “severe and permanent injuries.” Mongain also says she experienced dizziness, headaches, sensitivity to light and sound, and nausea after the incident.
The concert attendee was taken to the hospital from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, where she was treated for a concussion, a laceration to her forehead, and pain in her left wrist, the documents said.
The radio presenter is suing for medical expenses she incurred as a result of the incident as well as lost wages while she recovers.
Status of the case and 50 Cent’s Attorney statement
Following the August incident, Monegain filed a police report and the case was presented to the LA County District Attorney as a felony. However, according to TMZ, the D.A. The office referred the case to the L.ACity Attorney’s Office. The outlet reported in November that no criminal charges had been filed against the 50.
Regardless of the current status of the case, it will remain open for one year from the date of the August 30 incident.
The 50s’ attorney later said the “21 Questions” rapper did not “intentionally attack” Monegain. “Let’s be clear, as I told the LAPD this afternoon, my client Curtis would never knowingly attack anyone with a microphone,” attorney Scott Lemon told Page Six.
