Selena Gomez will play the role of 11-time Grammy Award-winning music legend Linda Ronstadt in an upcoming biopic.
Selena Gomez has added a new project to her ever-growing resume. The pop star and beauty mogul will play 11-time Grammy Award-winning music legend Linda Ronstadt in an upcoming biopic.
On Tuesday, Gomez hinted at her upcoming role as the prolific Mexican-American singer by posting a photo from Ronstadt’s 2013 memoir, “Simple Dreams: A Musical Memoir,” on Instagram.
Gomez revealed her role in early August 2023, posting photos of the singer and saying, “Everywhere from the hotel room carpet smells the same.”
According to Great Eastern Music, the film will be produced by James Keach, who directed the 2022 short documentary “Linda and the Mockingbirds” and produced the 2019 documentary about the singer’s life, titled “Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice.” . . .

Linda Ronstadt also appeared to confirm the news that Selena Gomez would be including her in her stories, sharing screenshots of the Variety and Rolling Stone reports on her Instagram account.
On her verified Facebook page, she also shared one such report, titled “It All Started with a Simple Dream 👀,” she wrote in a post. She also posted a link to the Rolling Stone report along with three beating heart emojis.
Rolling Stone reports that the film is still in pre-production (so it’s still too early to predict a release date) and there is no other casting. The project is produced by Ronstadt directors John Boylan and James Keech.
