Famous American comedian Shecky Greene dies at the age of 97 on 31st December 2023
Fred Sheldon Greenfield famously know as Shecky Greene was famous for his performance in Las Vegas nightclubs not only that he had made appearance in numbers of movies like Tony Rome, Ton, The dog who saved Hollywood, splash, The love machine etc.
He had awards like Las Vegas Entertainment Award, Jimmy Durante Award are for best entertainer and best comedian.
Green not only contribute in comedy but also in field like Army and Singing
Shecky Greene was born on 8th April 1926 and raised on the northern side of Chicago. From Early age he was interested in singing and in drama club. During WWII he also served in U.S. Navy for 3 years.
Initially he want to be a gym teacher but why performing stand up comedy in several nightclub his polularity increase and he decided to become a standup comedian, he started his comedy career at Prevue Lounge which is located in New Orleans. After working for a while he was approach by a agent to offered him to work as a comedian in Las Vegas where he perform in Hotels, party and shows and became one of the top headliner of 60s. He had made appearance in may movies as mention above.
When the famous MGM Grand Hotel opened in 1975 Dean Martin and Greene became the headliner performers. At this point he was earning $150000 a week, not only that she start to buy several nightclubs in different cities

2003 onwards are the worst days of Shecky Greene
At the beginning of 2003 he start to suffer from panic attack that make it impossible for him to perform on the stage not only that he also became prey to drug abuse, alcohol and bipolar disorder. It take 6 years for him to come out of that problem, in 2009 he was back to perform in Las Vegas.
Greene married Twice, in 1972 he married to Nalani Kele which lasted till1982 and in 1985 to Marie Musso. Aside from the comedy, he also invested in humanitarian efforts and created ST.Jude’s Ranch a shelter for neglected children in Nevada.
On 31st December 2023, Shecky Greene take his last breath. R.I.P
