Haddish addressed her arrest in a joking way on Jimmy Fallon The Tonight show
Haddish, 43, was arrested by the Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) and faces a DUI charge after allegedly falling asleep while driving.
Later that day, the actress performed a previously scheduled stand-up show at the Laugh Factory in Long Beach, California, and, according to audio obtained by TMZ from the set, she addressed the arrest.
In the recording, taken by an audience member on Friday night’s show, when asked what happened “last night,” Haddish jokingly responded, “You tell me,” before joking about the situation.
According to the recording, she said: “I prayed to God to send me a man with a job, a career, especially in uniform, and he answered my prayers.”
She sarcastically mentioned an arrest and responded that she needed a man in uniform.
A week after her arrest in Georgia, she told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show: “I can say this, Jimmy… I’m praying for God to send me a new man. A good man. And God, go ahead and send me four… in uniform.”
She said of the case: “And now I have a really great lawyer, and we’re going to work it out. I have to ask God to make things a little better for me.”
