The 37-year-old rapper recently got a new face tattoo that includes the Arabic phrase “Miskeen” above his right eyebrow. Drake is known not only for his music but also for his collection of tattoos.
Photographer Brent Corey posted an image of the rapper’s new art to his Instagram Story, capturing the phrase “Miskeen” in an arc over Drake’s eye.
“Miskeen” is an Somali phrase and had two meaning
“Miskeen” is a phrase commonly used among the Somali community in Toronto, the rapper’s hometown. According to Now Toronto and the Daily Sentinel, this phrase can have two different meanings, with the first being a way to describe someone who is “poor” or “miserable,” while the second definition is used to refer to someone who used to describe what is cute.” Or an “innocent” person.
Other tattoos of Drake and meaning behind it
As we know, this is not the first piece of art on Drake’s body. Drake honored fashion legend Virgil Abloh by getting a tattoo of the icon flying a kite on the Louis Vuitton runway at Paris Fashion Week 2018 in December.
Last August, he got a tattoo of his mother Sandra Gale’s initials ‘SG’ under his left eye.
